Just another ordinary week…or was it?

I was chatting with a friend on Friday when they asked a fairly standard question.  “How was your week?”  And in my standard unthinking way I said, “Oh it was fine, nothing special.”

Then I started to think.  Was that true?  Had it been just another ordinary week?

I called up the calendar on my computer and took a look.

HOLY CATS!  From Friday, February 26th until Friday, March 5th the following took place in my world.

My sister got engaged and so did another friend of mine.  My brother, my sister and a friend all had birthdays and another friend gave birth to her first child.  I launched my radio show, bought a new computer and got a haircut.  I had a first date/last date.  I met with various friends for brunch, coffee, a beer, happy hour, dinner and a bike ride.  And I am sure there are a couple of other things I am forgetting (since not everything goes in my calendar.)

Just an ordinary week my ass.  But if I had not taken the time to give some attention to these events I would have let them slide by with out the recognition and gratitude they deserve.

So how was your week?  Take a second and think about it before you answer.  You may be surprised.  I was.
