Taking a Break From Frustration

Have you ever had one of those days where you felt like you weren’t getting anything accomplished? I do. In fact I had one of those days yesterday.
I wanted to get things done. In fact there were lots of things I wanted to accomplish yesterday, but I couldn’t seem to make headway on any of them.
The harder I tried, the more frustrated I became. So, naturally, I tried harder. I was going to push my way through this and get something done.
Then I had this thought pop into my head. “Take a break.” What, a break? But I haven’t accomplished anything today. How can I take a break from doing nothing?
A smile of wonder came over my face. I thought, since I wasn’t accomplishing anything anyway, what did I have to lose? So I got up, walked away from my computer, grabbed a snack and sat down to read a book.
I didn’t think or worry about my work at all. I completely went somewhere else mentally, physically and spiritually. It felt GOOOOD!.
I ended up finishing the book I was reading in 15 – 20 minutes, ate the rest of my snack and got a drink of water. I felt clear, refreshed and surprisingly not frustrated any more.
When I went back to my work, it was crystal clear about what I needed to do first and I did it. It was like when you can’t find the next piece in a jigsaw puzzle. If you walk away and forget about it, when you come back the next piece in the puzzle is abundantly clear.
Sometimes all it takes is to change the energy and suddenly things are easy again. Get up, move around, have some food, something to drink and play a little bit. Trust that “crazy” idea that pops into your head. It is called Divine Guidance and it is your friend.
