Unconscious Agreements

What is stopping you from being happier, wealthier, more loved, more loving, more compassionate, less grumpy, more honest, worry less, celebrate more or whatever else you may desire?

Every single thing you don’t have is simply because you are in agreement with not having it.  The agreement may be subconscious, but it is still there.  This is Goo. (more…)

The Creek

I was working beside Boulder Creek today.  Being around the creek on one of the first warm days of Spring is always so much fun.  People walking, running and biking on the creek path, tubers floating by, dogs playing in the water.  I love it.

And I was reminded that the water doesn’t care what you do with it.  It just keeps rolling on.

A duck swam by and showed its ability in allowing the water to support it and take what it is given as it masterfully negotiated the rapids.  The big golden retriever just down stream from me takes a different approach as he bounds into the water in pursuit of the latest stick it has fallen totally in love with.  Though he does not have the grace of the duck he still finds a way to enjoy the rushing water. Cheeseburger in Paradise

I often use the example making a perfect cheeseburger to explain how we all must find our own answers.  (my apologies to the vegetarians reading this, please feel free to substitute a veggie burger or a portabella mushroom for your example)

My perfect cheeseburger would consist of a plump, juicy beef patty grilled medium on the BBQ grill, served on a toasted onion roll.  The bottom of the onion roll would have a nice layer of garlic infused mayonnaise spread on it.  On top of the burger would be a slice of melted sharp cheddar cheese, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, three slices of crisp bacon, topped off with a generous portion of hickory smoked BBQ sauce.  An additional portion of bbq sauce would be served along side for dipping. No Such Thing As Unhappierness

Posted on 29. Apr, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

I have set the intention to be honest with myself about my next steps in business and life. Everything from creating new products and that they will have value, to not drinking alcohol and eating better. Things are changing. But not really. I am just letting the true me come forward. It surprises me at times.

I am not sure what my diet will end up consisting of, but it is clearly shifting. I am a little worried about how it will appear to others. Again pre-judging others for me. I think eating consciously and not drinking alcohol will look all woo woo and superior and that others will not like me for it or not be able to relate to me, but that is just fear. (more…)

Pot Calling The Kettle Black

Posted on 27. Apr, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

There is a scene in an episode of the “Friends” television show where Phoebe is having a conversation with Monica and Monica tells Phoebe she really should not be acting a certain way when Monica acts this way all the time herself.  Phoebe, in that wonderfully quixotic way of hers, steps out of the conversation, holds her hand to her ear like a telephone receiver and says, “Oh hello kettle, this is the pot…you’re black.”

I love this scene.  It happens more often than we realize.  We are being the pot and we are not even aware of it. (more…)

Stop Pre-Judging

Posted on 26. Apr, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

During my meditation recently, I held the intention that I wanted to show up more honestly in my business and life. When I asked what step I could take to help fulfill this intention, I received the answer, “stop pre-judging myself for others.”  As confusing as that may sound to you, it made perfect sense to me.

I have a long history of convincing myself that I know what others will think of something I am considering doing, saying, wearing or whatever.  How arrogant is that? (more…)

Throw Your Scale in The River

I was speaking with a friend of mine yesterday and she mentioned she weighed more than she had in a very long time but people were saying that she looked healthy.

She was having to get used to her body feeling different than it had.  And it was strange.

Unfortunately, in our culture we place a great deal of importance on weight.  As if a certain weight equals health.  Now weight obviously plays a role, but it is not the only factor. (more…)

Blogging is Like Life…

Blogging is a lot like life.

There are basic defining elements like what language do you speak and how well do you write, but all in all we can pretty much make what we want of it.

About the only rule of blogging I know of is (more…)

Hello Misery, let me see when I can fit you in my schedule

Posted on 20. Mar, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

I was just talking with a friend of mine who was having a hard time due to an old boyfriend who was back in town.

She was going through the standard mental gyrations of :  What if I run into him?  What will I say?  I don’t want to get involved with him again.? Etc.  She was miserable.

As the conversation continued, she said something that I found profound.  She said, “ I am really busy right now with work, I don’t have time for this.” (more…)
