Clearing Your Energetic Closet

Have you ever had an article of clothing that you did not want to get rid of even though it no longer looked good or fit you? Maybe there were even holes worn in it? It really does not serve you anymore but you are so attached to it that you resist letting it go.
We sometimes do the same thing with the energies in our lives. Perhaps it is the energy from a past relationship, work environment or school or family. This energy no longer serves you, in fact it is restrictive like a piece of clothing that you have long since out grown. When you have it on you feel confined. The Creek

I was working beside Boulder Creek today.  Being around the creek on one of the first warm days of Spring is always so much fun. People walking, running and biking on the creek path, tubers floating by, dogs playing in the water. I love it.
And I was reminded that the water doesn’t care what you do with it. It just keeps rolling on.
A duck swam by and showed its ability in allowing the water to support it and take what it is given as it masterfully negotiated the rapids. The big golden retriever just down stream from me takes a different approach as he bounds into the water in pursuit of the latest stick it has fallen totally in love with. Though he does not have the grace of the duck he still finds a way to enjoy the rushing water. Resistance Is Futile

Many people I know are experts at resisting change. I definitely qualify as a change resistor at times. I am sure you know a few folks like this as well.
This resistance always makes me laugh, because if I told them I was going to take away their right to change they would fight me tooth and nail to keep it.
We hate hearing that we have to choose what we want by a certain date because after that date we can’t change our choice. Even if our right to change is restricted for only a year, like with health insurance, we are uncomfortable with this limitation.
Change is why we are here in this life. I mean, what would be the point of living if we never changed? We would just be a bunch of little, uncoordinated, inarticulate bundles of human. If we did not change, we would be new born babies our entire life. (more…)
