Cake for Breakfast

Posted on 26. Feb, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

A couple days ago I woke up wanting cake for breakfast.  You can’t eat cake for breakfast I thought.  That is just not right.  But it was what I wanted.  Man did I want it.

I ate a banana in an attempt to distract myself from this craving.  Didn’t work.  Maybe a hard boiled egg.  I am just need some protein.  That will take care of things.  Nope.  I simply need more to eat, but it needs to be good for me so how about a bowl of oatmeal.  Well the oatmeal was good, but I still wanted cake.

Screw it!  No one is here to see me eat it anyway. (more…)

Ho’oponopono Rocks!

So here I was in the middle of a past-life meltdown.  Beating myself up for what I had done in a particular past life. (it was not pretty)  And sitting in victimhood.  Believing I could not possibly be released and forgiven having done such a horrible thing.  (let’s just say there were more than a few deaths that I had a fairly direct roll in during this particular past-life)

My friend Claudia suggested I do Ho’oponopono to forgive myself and release this limiting energy.  Here is what she told me: (more…)

Follow the Energy

Have you ever felt like you needed to do something like write a paper for school, clean the house or get a report done for work, but just could not seem to do it. Try as you may, you just could not make it happen.

Everything was easier and more enticing to do than the task at hand. Checking email, doing laundry, doing your taxes, cleaning the office, baking cookies. You name it, virtually anything could distract you from what you wanted to get accomplished.

I was in this exact situation last week as (more…)

Have you ever done something that you were certain was going to go so right only to have it blow up in your face? If you are like me, this has happened more than once in your lifetime.

It can take all kinds of forms.  From preparing a special meal for someone only to find out they can’t stand some of the ingredients, to accepting a job you are sure will propel you in your career but it turns out to be a nightmare or even the classic, offering a kiss to someone and (more…)

Love is Never Wrong

Motivation is fear based.  As my friend and mentor Michael Tamura says  Everyone can run to some extent.  And if a bear was chasing you, you would run the fastest you ever have.  You are motivated to do it because you fear for your life.

Fear is a low level energy.  It is not a high level energy like excitement, or enthusiasm or inspiration.

Inspiration, however, (more…)

Blogophobia

Posted on 08. Feb, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Blogophobia is an intense, unrealistic fear that inhibits me from believing I have anything to write about in my blog.

I self diagnosed this condition in myself earlier today and, until I just started typing, have been suffering from its effects all day.

It is kind of funny to be paralyzed by the fear that I have nothing to write about when there really are no limitations on what you can write about on a blog.  Even writing about the fear of writing, as I am now, is a perfectly viable subject.

Really all it took (more…)

Dealing with Change

I had lunch with my friend, Jill,  yesterday.  It was good to see her and catch up, but for some reason I left our time together feeling very sad.  At first I could not figure out why.  Jill is someone I care for and think a great deal of.  I usually feel great when I get together with her and can’t wait to see her again.  This time I was not sure when or if I wanted to see her again.

She was in this huge negative victim space.  Not fun to be around.

Later in the day I was telling another friend, Sandy, about this situation and she helped me see what was happening. (more…)

Hello World!

So this is the Blogosphere.  I like what you have done with the place.  Very spacious!

So who I am and what I do?

My name is Ken Bechtel and I am a spiritual counselor.  What does that mean?  It means I work from a space of spirit or energy to assist my clients in finding their answers.  This involves spirit to spirit communication.

We are all made up of energy just like everything else on the planet.  Many of us call this spirit.  I connect with my clients on this level, using my abilities as a clairvoyant, to explore what is going on with them energetically, in present time, so they can be empowered and make informed choices going forward.

I focus on employing the power of amusement to facilitate transformation.  Much like water is virtually a universal solvent in the physical world, amusement is the solvent (more…)
