You Can’t Give What You Don’t Have

Posted on 02. Jun, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Being yourself and sharing your gifts can be like turning on a light in poorly lit room full of people.  As the daylight fades and the light in the room diminishes, some people do not care that there is less light, some people are happy the light is fading and others are disappointed that it is getting darker and harder to see.  When you walk in, radiating your brilliance it is like turning on the lights.

To those who did not care that the light was going away, this additional light does not matter.  They are fine either way.  To those who were excited about the diminishing light they are annoyed.  They moan and complain. (more…)

Viva la Revolution!

Joshua Scott Onysko

The revolution is under way…have you noticed?  We are at a paramount time in the history of our own cultural evolution. It’s almost as if the universe is stripping away the fat that has blinded us and we have some serious choices to make. Among the many of them is: “Do we make choices based on learned misconceptions, or do we make choices based on our inherent need to be free?”

In this case I am referring to true freedom; not the kind we fight for, vote for and die for, but (more…)

People Are Driving Me Crazy!

Posted on 25. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

It feels like I have no patients anymore.  I seem to be frustrated and angry at everyone.  Seriously!  It seems like everyone I meet, no not really the folks I meet and speak with, more the people I encounter driving, riding my bike, walking down the sidewalk, in the aisle at the store.  Yeah, those non-descript knuckleheads are the people that are driving me nuts.

It is like nothing they do is right.  They are moving too slow or blocking my way or making dumb decisions.  How inconsiderate can these people be?  I feel like I am in a world filled with idiots. (more…)

Wake Up And Take Back Your Power

Posted on 23. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP!

A few years ago I was teaching a relationships class and I asked the students to check in with what they noticed about the energy of a challenging relationship and then about a relationship that seemed to flow with ease.

As the students shared what they had noticed a fascinating thing happened.  Every single student referred to the challenging relationship as the “bad” one and the relationship that flowed with ease as the “good” one even though I had never used the words good or bad in setting up the exercise. Unconscious Agreements

Posted on 20. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

What is stopping you from being happier, wealthier, more loved, more loving, more compassionate, less grumpy, more honest, worry less, celebrate more or whatever else you may desire?

Every single thing you don’t have is simply because you are in agreement with not having it.  The agreement may be subconscious, but it is still there.  This is Goo. (more…)

The Creek

Posted on 17. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

I was working beside Boulder Creek today.  Being around the creek on one of the first warm days of Spring is always so much fun.  People walking, running and biking on the creek path, tubers floating by, dogs playing in the water.  I love it.

And I was reminded that the water doesn’t care what you do with it.  It just keeps rolling on.

A duck swam by and showed its ability in allowing the water to support it and take what it is given as it masterfully negotiated the rapids.  The big golden retriever just down stream from me takes a different approach as he bounds into the water in pursuit of the latest stick it has fallen totally in love with.  Though he does not have the grace of the duck he still finds a way to enjoy the rushing water. The Greatest Is Love

Posted on 13. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

I recently received this in an email from one of my mentors – Mary Morrissey – and I wanted to share it with you all.  Enjoy

The apostle Paul said that there are three things that last forever: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of them all is love. Then he said put love first.

Having hope and having faith are like keys that unlock the door to our awareness of love’s presence. The interesting thing about love is that love will never be more present for us than it is right now, but we can become more aware of it. When our heart is filled with faith and our mind is focused on hope, the awareness of love’s presence absolutely amplifies.

Love is not only with us but a companion to walk with in our day. I wish you a wonderful faith, hope and love filled day.

Listen for one minute a day

Posted on 12. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

What if you gave yourself one minute a day to listen.  Not read or write or think or improve or exercise.  Just listen.

When I stop for even a minute and listen I am reminded of what is important.  Right now I stopped to listen and the sound of birds singing outside my window came forward and the sound of road construction a block away, that had been dominating my awareness all morning, fell into the background.

Also the chatter in my head goes away when I just listen and my intuitive guidance comes forward and is heard.

What if you had a mentor who knew everything. saw everything and had done everything?  Would that be worth listening to? That is intuitive guidance. (more…)

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Posted on 06. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

I often use the example making a perfect cheeseburger to explain how we all must find our own answers.  (my apologies to the vegetarians reading this, please feel free to substitute a veggie burger or a portabella mushroom for your example)

My perfect cheeseburger would consist of a plump, juicy beef patty grilled medium on the BBQ grill, served on a toasted onion roll.  The bottom of the onion roll would have a nice layer of garlic infused mayonnaise spread on it.  On top of the burger would be a slice of melted sharp cheddar cheese, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, three slices of crisp bacon, topped off with a generous portion of hickory smoked BBQ sauce.  An additional portion of bbq sauce would be served along side for dipping. How Does Being Present Change Your Life

Posted on 05. May, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

What is the big deal about being present?  I get this question, in one form or another, quite often.

The answer is being present is one of the most empowering things you can ever do for yourself.  Seriously.

Answer me this, where do you live your life?  Do you live it yesterday?  Do you live it tomorrow?  Or do you live it today?

OK today.  So let’s take it a step further.  Do you live your life an hour ago, twenty minutes from now or right here in this moment?

Excellent.  So now that we have all agreed that we live our lives in the moment it makes sense that the most powerful place for our awareness to be is present in this moment with us, right? (more…)
