Afraid of the Dark

Do you remember when you were a child and you were afraid of the dark, or the monster under the bed? Our parents always told us there was nothing to be afraid of and often times they would turn on the lights and tell us to look under the bed only to discover that nothing was there. They would tuck us in and we felt safe knowing that we were protected and there was nothing to fear. (more…)

Seeing Inside – Sight Versus Vision

Posted on 15. Sep, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Sight is the ability to see the physical world while vision is the gift of seeing beyond it. Sight enables us to take the physical world in so we can participate in it with knowledge. It brings us pleasure through our eyes, which perceive the colors and shapes of all the myriad expressions of nature and human beings. It helps us feel in control, allowing us to see what is coming toward us, which way we are going, and exactly where we are standing at a given moment. We are able to read signs and books, navigate the interiors of buildings with ease, sense and perceive how a person is feeling by the expressions that cross her face. (more…)

Trusting in the Authenticity of your Experience

If we could breech the boundaries of time and look back on our childhood experiences with fresh eyes, we would see that our relationship to our experiences were authentic.  Authenticity has many faces, but the one we are looking at now is the authenticity of trust.  As we mature, our minds tend to form these check points that  act as filters to our experiences; these check points start to take over for the trust we once had for the true experiences we once enjoyed.

We gain trust in this process because it makes us feel more in control of the circumstances that we are engulfed in every day, but the truth is…we are not in control.  Sure we can make educated decisions that play out in (more…)

Out Of The Way Thinking

What inspires you?

You know those days where you feel like you are headed in the right direction, and everything you are doing feels like what you were meant to do?

Then again, why do we spend so many days feeling like we are in a fog, just going through the motions?  Did you ever stop to think that the reason you are feeling dull, uninspired, or less than successful is because you are in your own way? (more…)

Recent email I received:  “I have been thinking about this lately, how or when we lose it- the ability to follow our intuition?” – Amy

Good question.  So good, in fact, that I am sharing the answer I gave with you all.

This question is a great example of not trusting your intuition.

See the intellect wants there to be “the answer” for this question, but intuition tells us there is only YOUR ANSWER. Everyone has there own answer to how, when or if they lose their ability to follow their intuition. (more…)

How Long Can You Stand to Feel Good?

Posted on 16. Aug, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Julie Colwell, Ph.D.

Katie Hendricks asserts that most of us can stand to feel good for about 4 seconds. At that point, we’ll do something to interrupt the pleasant feeling: create a fear or critical thought, notice what is wrong, even bump into something to cause pain in our bodies.

This is known as the Upper Limit Problem, or ULP. Noticing when we ULP is a first step towards helping our bodies evolve into a higher and higher level of consciousness, one where we walk around living from the reality of what works, what is beautiful, how the world comes forward to meet all of our needs, how every breath in us and our fellow beings is actually a total miracle.

So–how long can you stand to feel good? Time yourself. Watch your thoughts, and see how long you can think only positive things. Listen in on your conversations and see if you and the people you’re speaking with can actually stay focused on what is working. Then–try making it longer. Build your feeling-good muscles.

Focus On Your Goals

Posted on 14. Jul, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

One of the biggest keys on getting free from your Goo is focusing on what you want instead of what you don’t want.  Where you want to go instead of where you don’t want to go.

A great example of this takes place at high performance driving schools where they teach people how to drive race cars.  They do an exercise where an obstacle course is set up and the student will drive through the course with the instructor sitting next to them letting them know when to “turn left, turn right, turn left.”  It never fails that the student will hit one of the obstacles even though the instructor is telling them exactly when to turn so they don’t hit anything. Clearing Your Energetic Closet

Posted on 29. Jun, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Have you ever had an article of clothing that you did not want to get rid of even though it no longer looked good or fit you?  Maybe there were even holes worn in it?  It really does not serve you anymore but you are so attached to it that you resist letting it go.

We sometimes do the same thing with the energies in our lives.  Perhaps it is the energy from a past relationship, work environment or school or family.  This energy no longer serves you, in fact it is restrictive like a piece of clothing that you have long since out grown.  When you have it on you feel confined. Opening to Abundance

Posted on 17. Jun, 2010 by in The Goo Blog

Having a new intention today was a bit challenging.

Keeping the intention of opening to supportive abundance in all areas of my life was new and a bit clumsy.  The guidance I received was to trust.

Instead of trying to figure out where the abundance is, just trust that if it feels like (more…)
